New Year’s resolution

It’s been ages since I’ve posted here. Partly due to illness and chores and responsibilities that have been eating away every minute of my day. I did try getting back to posting here a while back but couldn’t do it due to the same reasons. The first thing that came to my mind a few days ago on New Year’s eve was how I had isolated this blog and how much fun I used to have posting here. This is when I made up my mind that I would continue posting here this year.

I will challenge myself to post here everyday but even if that’s not possible, I’ll post at least alternate days. This is my new year’s resolution. What is yours? Do share them here.

And ofcourse even though it’s late now, Happy New Year to everyone! I hope this new year brings you joy and good health.

Bathe In Blood – 2

Dad and Sam were long gone. Mom is out in the garden watering her flowers. It’s summer vacation and all of my friends are out of town. We are going to our aunt’s place in ¬†Ohio next week, so we’ll be here in Almont for a few days. I can see that this is going to be a boring vacation. I hate these long vacations, they’re as boring as heck!

With nothing to do and the whole day ahead of me, I feel that there is nothing better than taking a nap. I turned on my iPod and listened to a few Coldplay tunes, when I fell sound asleep. I hear a ring coming from afar.. It sounds like my cellphone. Is this a dream? I finally opened my eyes reluctantly and grabbed my cell phone from the side table.

“Hello?”, I said with a sleepy voice.

“Hi Eva! How are you?”

“Hey Iris. I’m fine, thanks. How about you?”

“I’m doing great. It’s fun here in Auburn! I’m going out to the skateboard park with my brothers today. What about you? Having fun back there in Almont?”

“Nah, it’s boring here. I’ve got nothing to do lately!”

“Ah, I see. You should go out somewhere. Oops, Eva I’ve got to go. They’re calling me. I’ll talk to you later and have a good day!

“Thanks, Iris. Have fun! Bye.”

“Bye.”

That was Iris, one of the most talkative and hyper-active friend I’ve ever had. She’s always doing something cool and fun. I wish I was doing something ¬†right now. I’m suddenly awake all of a sudden and I’m feeling very thirsty. I’ll go down to the kitchen and fetch a glass of water.

I went to garden to have a look at mom and she wasn’t there. Where could she be?

“Mom, Are you here?” I scouted all around the house but she wasn’t there. She’s definitely at aunt Beck’s place next door I thought. Ah, these old women and their family talk…

Finding beauty and wonders in the smallest things in life

Who knew an old bulb would make a picture look so much more beautiful eh? The feelings of beauty and wonder lead to small tints of happiness in life. I find and savor these little moments and things in life that make me a happier person. The key to living a happier life is to see and be grateful for the little things in life that bring a smile to your face.

Bathe In Blood – 1

It’s been days since I have stepped outside the house. I’ve been ignoring calls from friends and relatives because it feels like I no longer have the voice to talk to¬†them. I’d rather be alone, for at least I feel a lot safer here. These last few days have been very weird. What I have seen, I just cannot explain. Is it a dream or¬†is it reality? This is a question I’ve been asking myself a thousand times. I still remember last Monday. I didn’t know…I just didn’t know…

(Last Monday)

“Eva, come down for breakfast honey. The boys are in a hurry to go fishing today! ” . Mom stood in the kitchen, looking up at me coming down the stairs. She had a big¬†smile on her face like always. At 45, she looks younger than her age. She is a peaceful woman, loves everyone and everything around her and sells home-made crafts. Everyone¬†calls her Ab, her real name being Abby Garcia.

“Hey Princess! Make sure you don’t go too far into the woods today.Stay with your mom. We heard romours of the Martians entering town yesterday. They might be camping in the¬†woods”. Dad had his common grin that looked pretty evil at times and stuffed a large piece of the sandwich into his mouth like he was in some eating contest. He has a¬†sense of humour that could get rather irritating sometimes. People call him Rocky while his real name is Ron Garcia. He is a farmer.

My little brother, Sam eats his breakfast quietly. He doesn’t talk all that much. But I doubt that it’s just because he’s bored with talking to us. He is a hardcore metal-head,the kind¬†who’d prefer praying to the likes of Metallica rather than Jesus Christ. At 16, he has been busy the last few days finding members for his first heavy metal band.

“Are you done yet Sam?”, dad cried out loud with a hint of restlessness to his voice. He loved going out for fishing.

“Yes dad, let’s go.”, said Sam swallowing the last piece of his sandwich.
