Simply Life

Open your eyes to the beauty of life…

The story of life is what you want it to be
So open your eyes to the truth and you shall see,
Everything you want and everything you hope for
Is there if you only work towards your goal and you will see you receive more.

What you feel and what you think
Is what you write in your story of life with an uneraseable ink,
So love and do good
And everyone and everything around you will love you back like they should.

Paintings by my mom.

Oh how I love art! I can really say that my love and passion for art comes from my Mom. I remember seeing her make wonderful sketches and paintings when I was a child and I took it seriously to engage in it myself. Well mom is back here at home for a few months. But sadly she’s going back to Genova to join the cruise 😦 I wish she would never go but well she has to go back to work..

Well here are two of the paintings she did while she was here as a result of me encouraging her to do what she loves, as always!

The Horizon (through an airplane window).

On a day of days,
I stood and gazed,
Over the western sea,
I was completely dazed,
Wide-mouthed and amazed,
when a mermaid called to me.

Ooh-Ooooh Ooooooooooh, my sunny sailor boy,

Instagram Tips and Tricks

I love Instagram 🙂 Here are some tips and tricks to make it shine from Kira.

her new leaf

I am still obsessed with Instagram – are you? I think it’s a great way to capture small, every-day moments that you might otherwise forget. I love looking back over my photos and remembering when I took them! Here are a few tips for how to make your Instagrams shine.

Use your phone’s camera app to take your photo, then import into Instagram. The built-in camera app has way more capability than the Instagram camera, including zoom, focus, and exposure.

Bonus tip – ever had a photo turn out poorly because your subject was backlit and appeared too dark? On the iPhone, touch and hold your finger on your subject to lock the focus and exposure.

When you bring your photos in from the camera app, you will have the ability to zoom in on your subject – use it! Cut out anything unimportant in the background and showcase the…

In the village of Mongpu

It’s been a few days since my visit to Mongpu, a small village in the Darjeeling district. I’m glad that I made the decision to go there to visit my sister-in-law. Though the place is small and less populated, it has a charm of it’s own. It is probably one of the greenest places I’ve been to and with the best scenery around it’s one of those places I’m sure I’ll be visiting a few times again.

My sister-in-law’s house where we stayed.

The hills are beautiful.

Yup, I think they’re twins too…

My niece and her puppy 🙂

The remains of what they say used to be a British vacation home in the 18th Century.

Mirik, a trip to the past.

Mirik is located in the serene hills of Darjeeling District in West Bengal, India. I cherish those moments walking in the forest filled with orange trees that my grandparents cultivated. I remember those long hours of meditation and tree hugging I used to do as a child. It’s always amazing to visit my grandparents once in a while. It’s my trip to the past.

What I would do if I were to work at Automattic this summer.

An internship at Automattic would really be a great opportunity to experience working in a team of amazingly creative and smart people. I have always wondered how great it would be to be able to work in a support position and help WordPress users. I mean I have provided support for a few users but helping the huge number of users at WordPress.com would be great!

It would be awesome to gain an insight on how things work and what problems users face in a normal day. And I love helping, so it would be great! I’ve always wanted to be a Happiness Engineer. It’s a different thing to design and develop sites/blogs than to help users fix those specific issues that get them out of their mind. I can literally feel the smile on the other side of the screen even though I can’t see it face to face.

I hope you guys check out this post and hopefully let me in on the internship! Damn, that would be awesome!
